Rescue of part of Clem crew reported off Virginia Capes
A bulletin from Boston on January 2 says part of the crew of the two mast auxiliary schooner Clem of Cleveland was rescued after the vessel was disabled near the Virginia Capes in the Atlantic. Steamships and a coast guard cutter were posted by the wreck, with one ship reporting crew aboard and another sighting a vessel matching Clem with no signs of life. The Clem is a 61 footer with Cleveland as home port. A separate note reports Miss Jane Watkins recovering from surgery in Pittsburgh.
