Two Shenango Street women, Mrs Mary Davis and Mrs Mary Grannis, aged grandmother and daughter, were arrested New Year’s night for drunkenness and disorderly conduct on South Jefferson Street. They told Mayor Tyler they visited a home to deliver clothes and drank in another room. After one woman fell in a stairway outside, two men Raffello Ricci and an elder Froelie were fined one dollar and costs. The mayor sent the women back to lockup then decided they and the city would provide for the children, sending both women to the poor farm for 30 days or paying 28 dollars each.
