Four Injured In Two Car Crash In Union Township
State police reported a collision on Route 422 at Harbor Edinburg Road involving a Lawrence County Sheriff's cruiser. Passenger Vincent Lamar Austin, 28, from New Castle, was airlifted to St Elizabeth Health Center after the crash with Michelle Rakoci, 20, also of New Castle. Deputies Mangino and McBride, both from New Castle, were treated and released. A one year old girl in a car seat was unharmed. Rakoci allegedly failed to yield as she turned into the intersection, causing the crash.

Battaglia to fill in for retired judge in North Beaver
Retired Ellwood City district judge Samuel A. Battaglia will fill in on a part time basis in North Beaver Township for J W Lamb who retired. Battaglia 64 will work Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesdays and no nights until an appointment is made. He served 24 years as district judge and will serve as senior judge to help if illness arises.
