Curtis Latta of Detroit staged a James Bond chase yesterday using a 1972 Cadillac with bullet holes in the back window as he chased a Boeing 747 jet down a runway at Detroit Metro Airport.
Rain is forecast for the northern coast of California and Southern Florida. Snow is expected along a narrow band from Montana through the Central Plains to the Ohio Valley. Temperatures will vary little. West Pennsylvania will be cold with possible light snow near Lake Erie. Shenango River at 5.29 feet.

The Lawrence County Housing Authority received three proposals to lease housing including Towne Development plan to convert Castle Arms Motor Hotel into elderly housing. 250 units are proposed across Ellwood City Riverside and Castle Arms with 20 year leases and government rent subsidies.
Lawrence County officials face questions from A. Lloyd Smith a Congressional candidate on modular housing costs and project management. The CAR project evolved from conventional to modular design amid funding pressures with 116 units installed.
Senator William Proxmire of Wisconsin appeared at the Capitol with two black eyes over the weekend and wore dark glasses at a Joint Economic Committee meeting and on the Senate floor as he declined to comment on the cause.
George Miketish, 50, escaped after a gunfight with an FBI agent near Rimersburg. He was wounded and captured in Cook's Forest with his hostage Mrs. Yvonne Bancroft, 31, who was treated for minor wounds. Miketish had abducted Bancroft from Busti, New York, after beating her landlady and shooting a boy.
Jury-picking time arrived in Harrisburg with 46 prospects qualified after 11 days of voir dire for the Harrisburg Seven case. Defendants include Rev. Philip F. Berrigan and six other antiwar activists charged with kidnapping Kissinger, bomb plots, and draft-board vandalism across nine states.
Russell Kawa, superintendent of the county highway garage, criticizes the state DOT summer resurfacing program for Lawrence County as only 5.22 miles, well short of the county’s 19.8 mile request. He calls for public pressure and letters to PennDOT to expand the program, noting three projects approved: Bridge Street extension, Pa. 388 between Pa. 108 and U.S. 422, and Pa. 208 in New Wilmington. The county had proposed 10 projects overall.
