Cash return irks city police chief in shooting death case
New Castle police Chief Tom Sansone criticized the Lawrence County district attorney for not notifying the department before a judge ordered $4,531 returned to Sasha Grannis. Grannis had cash found in her home after Kayla Jones was shot and killed on November 1. Campbell, Jones’s boyfriend, faces charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering. He is jailed without bond awaiting trial. Grannis’ attorney sought the return of the money.

Shooting downtown prompts multi-department response on McClelland Avenue
Police closed McClelland Avenue near State Street after a Harbor Heights shooting. Six vehicles were blocked from leaving. a K-9 unit checked cars. Four cars bore Pennsylvania plates, one Ohio plate, and a sixth was untagged. Four to five people were arrested and taken to the city station. Neshannock Union and state police assisted at the scene.
