Bus Incident Probed Under City Police Investigation
Two city police lieutenants closed an investigation into an incident near Highland and Lincoln avenues involving Jo ann Luczak. A witness and officials said the 11 year old was not dragged by a city bus. she ran beside the bus to retrieve her purse and fell into light snow. The driver Perry Hetrick was cleared of blame as passengers reported no injuries and Luczak went to New Castle Hospital for a checkup.

Latshaw Dies of Heart Attack at 84 in Smethport
Donald Edward Latshaw, 84, of Mercer, died of a heart attack in Smethport while working as an agent for Fuwkeye Lines. He was born March 18, 1963 in Parker, married Kurth Nobbes Feb 22, 1937, and was a member of Mercer Methodist Church and Parker Lodge 521 F and AM. Surviving are his wife Edith, a daughter in France, a sister and brother, and one grandchild. Burial will be in Mercer CHL Cemetery after services at Cusninanam Funeral Home in Leesburg.
