Redrawn 12th District blends counties in Pennsylvania map
The 12th District absorbs eight southern municipalities and parts of Mercer Butler Armstrong and others, with Mark Critz representing Johnstown. It merges with part of the Fourth District, includes McCandless Township, and could place Dems against each other in the April 24 primary. Beaver County and parts of Allegheny Westmoreland Cambria Somerset also join. The reapportionment drops PA to 18 districts after slower population growth. Two Lawrence County Democrats opposed the plan, though Altmire backed it. Rothfus plans to move into the new district near Edgeworth.
