Massive New York Central rail yard blast kills and injures
A powerful explosion at 4th Street and Lexington Avenue wrecked the milk depot and carpenter shop of the New York Central railroad. Nine dead, eight missing, and more than fifty injured. The blast also heavily damaged the New Haven power house and nearby buildings. Police and ambulances mobilized as thousands gathered.

Sudden Death of Well Known Farmer
William Henry Robinson of Union township died Sunday noon at his home from injuries after a fall from the hayloft on Saturday. He was 69, a longtime Lawrence county farmer and Democrat. Survived by wife and three children, services Wednesday at 11 at the family residence with interment at Oak Park.

Burglars Enter Fenton Home on Phillips Street
While the Fenton family was at church, burglars entered 65 Phillips Street through a broken cellar window and ransacked the house. Police investigated but made no arrests as of now and only a small amount of loot was recovered.

Aged Man Fatally Injured By Train Near Red Jacket Furnace
Timothy Mitchell almost 80, struck by a P. and L. E. train near the Red Jacket furnace while on his way to work at the steel mill. Dragged and thrown aside, he suffered severe head injuries and other wounds. He died at 2 25 PM Monday after being rushed to hospital.

His arm was burned as contents splashed over his body, injuring his leg back and chest. he was rushed to Shenango Valley hospital for treatment.
