Franklin Pa December 18 4 Walter Witherup nineteen year old venango county air operator confessed to state investigators that a shotgun blast killed his father Clark N Witherup but he insisted the shooting was accidental claiming he was trying to dislodge a shell at midnight while his father lay on a cot for shed work The youth clung to the accidental explanation and was to be reenacting the scene for detectives.
