Honor Guard Struggles With Aging Members In New Castle
New Castle Area Honor Guard, made up of Army veterans, faces reduced duties as aging members decline in health. They prioritize funerals, having served 100 to 150 annually and 2,500 over 20 years, while also supporting 35 school and church programs. Two former members were laid to rest this year, and donations fund uniforms and supplies.
