Postal hearing draws crowd over New Castle mail facility plan
Nearly 200 people attended a meeting on closing New Castle's mail processing plant. Postal officials heard strong objections as the study recommends merging the plant with Pittsburgh, with 100 plus jobs affected and 11 net losses. The move could save about 2.67 million dollars, but delays and travel concerns remain. Local workers urged Congress to act while union leaders called for broader action.
