Finnish authorities report Soviet troops pulled back on both eastern fronts. The Finns claim their forces hold the Carelian Isthmus and prepare defenses for at least a year. Reports said two destroyers were put out of action in yesterday’s engagement with Russian units near Abo.
In Marlonville district residents noted a public Christmas tree in New Wilmington’s square trimmed and lit for the holiday season. Mrs Brown, of Bessemer near Marianville, and Jack Mills reported outings to the woods for deer. a large diseased tree in the 1000 block of Croton Avenue was removed by Owen Fox and city workers.
