Charles S. Taylor, accused of murdering his wife in Memphis, was captured in Shreveport Louisiana. He confessed, saying he tried twice to kill himself before being found. The body of his wife, 45, was found a week earlier, hacked and stuffed in a trunk in his abandoned barber shop. Taylor had two ounces of sin when captured.
Dr C C Green superintendent of Mongar schools reports attendance may return to normal after a two day rest period. He jokes that no absences were recorded today and next week conditions should be more nearly normal as school reopens.
Washington December 15 The Senate confrontation over the Kellogg antiwar treaty centers on a Reed Moses resolution outlining terms for ratification. President Coolidge opposes reservations and any explanatory resolution, while irreconcilables urge a vote after committee consideration next week. The foreign relations panel plans to act before Christmas.
Watson K. Betts a 42 year old cashier for Feoples National Bank of Middletown was found dead in Crawyer's Creek near Wilmington Delaware after his car was spotted by investigators. State troopers had dragged the creek following a report of the missing man and recovered the body. A separate note reports a parking sign removed from East Washington Street near Mill Street and Apple Alley will be replaced by police.
Police report recovering the Studebaker belonging to H. L. Merriman of Beaver Falls. The car stolen from Lincoln Avenue Thursday night was found abandoned on Delaware Avenue.

Campbell Marshanl, a 50 year old Frankfort farmer, shot his wife six times and wounded Deputy Sheriff Ora Dennis after finding them together in a parked car near Louisville. Both victims were listed in serious condition as Marshanl said he acted after becoming suspicious while at home with his four children during a dance night.
Hollywood mourns Theodore Roberts veteran film star aged 67. The San Francisco born actor died at his home after a brief illness following a fall health decline. Roberts, renowned as a humorous human character actor, had just completed a part in a talking picture.
Washington reports a December period outlook with rain or snow in the north and showers in the south Monday into Tuesday, then fair and colder conditions midweek. Ohio Valley sees showers Monday, then fair and colder by Tuesday and Wednesday, with rising temperatures Thursday and probable Friday showers in the north.
North Beaver township residents watched a large fire apparatus roll through Mt Jackson on Route 17 Friday evening. Fearing a blaze, locals assumed New Castle department aid, only to learn the truck carried a single driver and bore no local markings, likely en route from the factory to a city.
London reports an optimistic bulletin on King George's health after a long consultation by physicians Sir Stanley Hewitt and Lord Dawson of Penn. Jersey City police questioned Peter Kudzinowski, the confessed slayer of two children and a youth, after a Newark court ruling involved a mother attempting to prevent her son’s kidnapping. The officers, with 14 year old Dewidt Stanton, reviewed the July 4, 1928 incident where a stranger entered a window, shot the mother, and fled, leaving a hat that matched the suspect. Death notices list James Boyles aged 30 and Mary Sanellergenrother aged 88. Addresses include 252 North Mercer and Clinton. No further details on causes or dates provided.
James M M Boyles 88 Civil War veteran and longtime city resident died at his North Mercer Street home after a illness of complications. He served with the 1004 Roundhead regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers in the war and survived by three sons Dr E Lee Boyles Dr H D Boyles and H M Boyles. He was married to E McDowell Boyles who died in 1905. He leaves two sisters Mrs Lizzie Taylor Oklahoma and Mrs Sarah Taylor and brother William B Boyles. Funeral services set for Monday December 17 at 2 30 p m from his home conducted by Dr C B Wingerdott with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Beaver Falls man HL Merriman recovered his stolen car and started for home when near White's store East New Castle an Italian pedestrian was struck. The pedestrian suffered a fractured ankle and was rushed to New Castle hospital. Identity not yet confirmed.
