Six Student Nurses Die In Auto Crash Near Patterson
Six student nurses from St. Mary's Hospital Brooklyn were killed Sunday night when their car skidded on an icy highway and hit a milk truck. Five died instantly. Sheila Roche 19 of Blasdell died en route to Danbury Hospital. The others identified were Consuelo Byrne 20 Staten Island Anne Callaghan 20 Eileen Davis 20 Martha Santoema 20 and Maxine Singleton 19 all of Brooklyn. The vehicle was not badly damaged and could be driven away.
