State police seek help identifying a man suspected of robbing the Ellwood Road convenience store at 4112 Ellwood Road in Slippery Rock Township on Wednesday night and believe the same person carried out a similar robbery Saturday. Youngstown man charged after narcotics sting and gun find
A Youngstown man identified as a kilo cocaine dealer was arrested after a multi month federal and local investigation. Police said 143.8 grams of powder cocaine and a loaded 9 millimeter handgun were found in a car linked to Clay at Union Township. District Attorney Joshua Lamancusa said the suspect faces 10 to 20 years if convicted.

East Side drug dealer nabbed after foot chase
New Castle police and district attorney drug task force arrested 37 year old Michael P Roberts after a foot chase through East Side streets including Stanton Street and Maryland Avenue. Officers used a Taser to subdue him. about 9 grams heroin 3 grams cocaine 8.5 grams crack cocaine marijuana oxycodone and 2693 in cash were dropped during the pursuit. An additional 2060 was found at a house linked to Roberts. He is jailed on parole violation awaiting drug and fleeing charges. The DA called the arrest a textbook operation.

Man to serve four to nine years for teen sexual assault
A North Hill man, Steven Plum, 35, pled guilty to statutory sexual assault involving a 14 year old girl. He was sentenced to 4 to 9 years in state prison plus five years probation and lifetime Megan's Law registration. Plum, jailed since March 8, faced multiple alleged assaults at his home on March 4, with investigation by New Castle police.
