Police Shop With a Cop event brings Christmas joy to Pittsburgh area kids
Police and Walmart partners raised over 15000 for a Shop With a Cop program giving 100 elementary and 40 junior high children a morning and afternoon shopping spree. Each child received a $200 gift card, a McDonald’s Happy Meal certificate, a Sweet Frog character, and prize bags. Officers aided purchases, with donations from the community and Walmart Foundation matching funds. The program aims to establish positive, mentoring relations between kids and public safety officers across Ellwood City, North Versailles, Washington, and New Castle areas.
