City garage project to start under Rogan plan
Mayor Francis J. Rogan announced that construction of a new public works garage will begin soon. A.P. O Hara Co. of Youngstown submitted a low bid of 136700 for the steel building to replace the East Washington Street garage. The site on Eastbrook Road near the refuse yard was chosen after recreation restrictions prevented development at the Dean Park location. The city will install a used heating system from James Cioffi and may buy three or four used hydraulic jacks from him, aiming to save several thousand dollars.
