In Cyprus, a Greek liner was to bring troops home as part of a peace settlement avoiding war with Turkey.
Dr Christian Barnard said he is planning a second operation after the successful first human heart transplant. Louis Washkansky, recovering, eats solid foods and remains under care while doctors pursue a donor for the planned follow up. The donor is Denise Darvall, a 25 year old girl who died in an automobile accident.
Six county districts held reorganization meetings last night led by incumbents in New Castle Ellwood City Laurel Shenango Mohawk and Wilmington with new members sworn in. Neshannock lacked quorum and Union Area will reconvene Thursday to elect officers.

Dozens of workers may have died when a 1000 foot bridge under construction collapsed sending tons of concrete and steel into a 550 foot gorge. Authorities reported two bodies recovered and 14 seen, with 12 workers on the span and 50 below in the gorge. One survivor hospitalized in serious condition.
