Murder Darkens Hillsville Record as Quarrel Ends in Shooting
In Hillsville two youths Peter Chineel and Alfonse Durdea fought at Carbon quarries. Durdea shot Chineel then fled toward a streetcar, reportedly crossing the state line and possibly headed for Youngstown. Chineel lies wounded in a quarry shack, outlook bleak. Detectives Logan and another officer pursued leads and urged authorities to watch for the shooter.
