Axion launches PowerCube storage unit with Viridity in reg market

Axion Energy teams with Viridity to manage regulation market participation via the PowerCube a mobile 500 kW/250 kWh battery unit designed by Axion staff in Neshannock Township The system uses patented lead carbon batteries and can operate on both sides of the meter with applications in wind solar storage and oil rigs The project received a $300,000 Pennsylvania grant and aims at a $122 billion market through 2020 with North America Europe and Middle East outreach.

The Sacramento Bee reports seven fires burned over 130 acres in El Dorado County while five fires scorched more than 250 acres in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. Southern California power outages affected 350000 customers, with 270000 still without power. Gusts up to 80 mph toppled semitrailers and felled trees, closing schools in Los Angeles County and prompting emergency declarations in Pasadena. A&B Motor Cars noted luxury car losses from fallen limbs and residents blamed overlong tree-trimming. Similar wind damage hit Utah with 50,000 power outages and interstate closures.
