City teen held in connection with slaying
A 16 year old West Side youth, Jason L. Scott of 8 N Lee Ave, was arraigned on a homicide charge and placed in Allencrest Juvenile Detention Center after a late night arrest. He is accused in the stabbing death of 34 year old John F Renfro of 110 Cleveland St, during a dispute on Grant Street. Police say witnesses saw Scott with a knife and one witness says Scott admitted stabbing someone. If convicted of a major murder charge he would be tried as an adult. A preliminary hearing will follow before District Justice Ernest M Crawford.

Ellwood City Officers Stand Trial on Assault Charges
Ellwood City patrolman Scott G Stablein and former sergeant David E Kingston were ordered to stand trial for rape and indecent assault and for criminal attempt to commit rape, respectively, involving a 22 year old woman in Stiefel Park on April 22, 1993.
