London dispatch reports King George had a fair night but a slight temperature rise, with medical officers warning recovery from pleurisy will be slow. Harrisburg December 1 approximately 100000 hunters entered Pennsylvania woodlands for the first open season on does and antlerless deer. The season runs to December 16 with legal deer in 30 counties but injunctions in Monroe Pike Northampton and Wyoming counties block hunting under special licenses. Meanwhile other game seasons closed yesterday leaving bass shorebirds wild turkey gray squirrels ringneck pheasants riffed grouse quail shut. bear season remains open and elk may be shot in northern counties along with other open species.
New Castle Aerie 455 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles invites non members and wives to an open meeting at 43 South Jefferson Street on Monday night December 3 at 2 o clock. Thomas O'Donnell of Kansas City will speak on the organization and its ideals and benefits. The group has grown to 600 300 members and supports pensions for the aged and dependents of WWI service members. Ladies auxiliaries are being organized to support the work.
Rox Petrie aged 60 was instantly killed this afternoon around 2:30 oclock at the Albert Martin place near New Castle airport on the Youngstown road. The accidental explosion occurred as he and his son in law Albert Martin prepared to go hunting. Petrie had recently been living at the Martin home.
Dedication of a fine new harmonic reed organ at Temple Israel was held Friday evening in memory of Abraham L. Rauh. Alexander Cass Sunstein of Pittsburgh presented the organ, with Rabbi Samuel H. Goldenson delivering the consecration address. Temple Rodef Shalom participants joined in the service, and the event was described as memorable for the congregation and attendees.
Five men at the Freedom Oil Works in Freedom Pennsylvania were seriously burned when boiling oil spilled from a top overflow onto a platform 25 feet above ground. Names including Humphrey Matthews John Devore Albert Turley Paul Merriman and Warren Xi gore were on the platform. three were taken to Rochester hospital as two probable fatalities loomed.
Butler County detective says former Butler garage owner J Earl Jones will face the December grand jury after alleged confession to shooting his wife and burning her body in a deserted log cabin last October. Bones and jewelry identified as Mrs Jones were found at the scene, leading to Jones alleged confession as the grand jury weighs 54 cases.

The unidentified man believed to be Fred Hill of Cleveland was found murdered in a freight box car on the Erie railroad near Sharon Pennsylvania.
