Bell Telephone Co. workers in the city failed to report for duty as Local 58 leaders cited a seniority dispute. About 150 installer repairmen walked out in McKeesport over a transfer to Pittsburgh. Street Parking Revenue Rises After Rate Change
Street parking revenues rose about 50 percent since new rates took effect. Arthur Mittler said August 1 to now brought in roughly $900 versus $600 under old rates, despite removing about 35 meters and shifting meters on E Washington, W Washington and Jefferson Streets and adding 15 on S Croton from Grove to Jefferson. Meter changeover finished August 12 with rates at ten cents per hour and five cents for half hour. street meters do not accept Authority tokens.

First Polio Case Report In County
The first polio case in Lawrence County this season was confirmed at Jameson Memorial Hospital. An 11 month old, John Robert Calhoun, son of Mr and Mrs Robert N Calhoun of 1606 Highland Ave, was admitted Sunday and reported in satisfactory condition. He had two Salk vaccinations and was due for a third in December. Local Polio Foundation officials could not provide further medical details.
