I Lamont Hughes rises to the presidency of the Carnegie Steel Company after 32 years of service. The board announced his promotion Monday afternoon, succeeding William G. Clyde who resigned due to ill health. Hughes, brother of C Roy Hughes and James M Hughes, grew up in New Castle and Mercer, Pa., and attended local schools before moving to Braddock to continue schooling. Continued on page two.

Two Injured As Auto Truck Upsets And Burns Near Bedford
Two persons were injured when the New Castle Coat apron and Tower Supply truck overturned on the Youngstown New Castle road near New Bedford. Driver A C Summers of New Castle was cut about the eye and Ralph E Dunmire of Youngstown suffered a severe shoulder injury. Everett Summers escaped unharmed. Loss from the truck and contents is about 2000 dollars. The driver said a one eyed car with a dim headlight blinded him.
