Doughnut races return after year hiatus in 2021 tour
The Tour de Donut resumed after pandemic disruption with a Donut Dash 5K starting and finishing at Apple Castle orchard. A Saturday Tour de Donut features cyclists eating a dozen doughnuts while touring northern Lawrence County. apple Castle co owner Steve Johnston said twelve batches will yield about 1700 doughnuts. Organizers moved events from Memorial Field House to Apple Castle due to uncertain COVID policies, but pre registrations were strong. On Friday runners started in the orchard and looped back to finish.
