Lawrence County Receives $262 Million in Federal Spending
Census Bureau data show Lawrence County received $262.4 million in federal spending for fiscal 1987. Direct payments to individuals totaled over $209 million, including $155.6 million for retirement and disability benefits, while other payments reached $53.7 million.
