Fraternities Move Toward Alcohol Free Housing
Pittsburgh AP report shows about one in five North American fraternity chapters ban alcohol in their buildings including living quarters for members of legal age. The move comes from within the fraternities, not university admins, with Phi Delta Theta setting a summer deadline to ban alcohol and ranking houses by volunteer work versus police incidents. Dry housing has been adopted by about ten chapters in three years, a trend noted by the North American Interfraternity Conference.
