Opening Night at Lawrence County Fair Delights Thousands

Opening day attendance hit about 12 000 as rides lights and music drew families to the midway. The petting zoo including an elephant attracted some, while the grandstand hosted Cissie Lynn and the Busted Cowboy Band. Fireworks capped the evening as youth prepared for judging contests in dairy beef and lamb. Tonight Glitter and Dust and Ronnie McDowell perform in the Community Tent and Grandstand respectively with more judging continuing tomorrow.

A federal three judge panel upheld Pennsylvania's congressional redistricting approved by the state Supreme Court in March.
