Harrisburg reports that Attorney General Anne X. Alpern was asked by a western state delegation including Mayor Herman Steinbrink to intervene in the dispute between the Independent Gas Workers Union and Manufacturers Light and Heat Co. The group urged Alpern to seek a resumption of operations and mediation during the 98 day contract stalemate while the union remains on the job.
