In a heavy rainstorm near the grandmother's Flint home, Audrey Freeborne age 11 and Donald Freeborne age 7 were struck and killed crossing the street by a car driven by Richard West 23 of Mt Morris. Doris Freeborne age 12 was seriously injured. The trio had been visiting Flint for the summer. their mother had died about a year earlier. The accident occurred shortly after dark Sunday night and is reported to have happened near 422 Edgewood Avenue.
