Yankees In New Drive In Picardy

American troops brigaded with the British take part in a major new offensive before Amiens. Pershing has not disclosed unit identities while March had said the 33rd division was in action in Picardy. The drive aims to force a German withdrawal to relieve pressure on the Vesle line.

Two sons of Mrs. Mary Oberg at 815 Oak Street are serving in the United States forces. William H. Mackey went to Camp Sherman in December 1917 and is now in France with the infantry. T. E. Mackey left New Castle with Troop F to Camp Hancock and is also in France, in a cavalry detachment.

Two Nichol Capito brothers serving in war effort

The two Capito brothers from 508 South Jefferson street are serving the United States. Nick Capito Jr. left May 25 for Camp Greenleaf Georgia and is now at Camp Merritt New Jersey in the ambulance corps. Joseph A Capito is in his third Navy enlistment aboard the San Francisco as a first class pharmacist mate and is somewhere in European waters.
