Washington Aug 4 Nathan Gregory Silvermaster former Commerce Department employee linked by Elisabeth Bentley to a wartime Communist spy ring is to be questioned today by the House Un American Activities Committee He previously refused to answer questions citing possible self incrimination and faces possible contempt charges if he persists in silence

Two thieves fled with 1700 dollars from the Camden Roofer Supplies Co as one man tried to stop them. David Goldschneider of Philadelphia reported seeing the pair at the safe and gave chase, but police said he could not stop them.
The White House says President Truman has under consideration the Senate investigation’s request for loyalty records on William Remington a Commerce department official accused of aiding a Communist agent. Senator Ferguson chairing the committee said it could issue subpoenas to obtain the records.
