Tornadoes injure 38 and rip roof from Waxahachie VFW hall
A North Texas tornado outbreak injures at least 38 people, with a VFW post roof ripped off in Waxahachie and a mobile home park damaged near Ennis. Sixty people were inside the Waxahachie VFW when the twister struck. 35 were hurt at Ennis, including several seriously. Leechburg teachers join PA strike spreading statewide

South Vietnamese infantry on jungle slopes near the A Shau Valley uncovered the first major Communist arms stockpile since the valley campaign began. Lon Nol declines to form new Cambodian government

Auditor General Robert P. Casey told state police the White Haven facility in Luzerne County ran a lottery through its Employes Social Activities Fund.
