King Motors donated three refurbished police cruisers at no charge to New Castle Police Department for its K-9 unit. The event also included a $500 donation and a fundraising push by the dealership. Officers Jamie Bucker John Colella and Shawn Lough and their K-9 partners Branko Achill and Vader showcased the units and their crime fighting demonstrations.
King Motors of Neshannock Township refurbished three New Castle Police Department K-9 unit cruisers at no charge. Local volunteers expanded the project with donated paint and hundreds of hours, turning wrecked cars into serviceable patrol vehicles while highlighting community support for the dogs.
Ronald L. Dougalewicz Jr., 36, of 23 Edgewood Acres, an employee of Union Area School District, was arraigned on charges including statutory sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault for alleged sexual contact with a 14 year old female student. He was released on 50000 dollars bond and faces a preliminary hearing May 5.
Lawrence County DA described the March 1 2007 death as murder and a blunt-force homicide. DNA under Brests fingernails and elsewhere reportedly linked defendant Gaylord Spell, 46, to the crime. Spell, formerly of 529 E Long Ave, is charged with criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse, arrested May 14 2007.
State police allege a frustrated friend helped steer Thomas Nail to a deadly predawn confrontation near Big Run creek. Joseph Clyde McCormick, 26, of 3530 Old Pittsburgh Road, faces three felonies for conspiracy and aggravated assault plus three misdemeanors for involuntary manslaughter reckless endangerment and furnishing alcohol to minors. Nail died from a stab wound after the March 25 altercation. no charges yet filed against the 19-year-old suspected stabber. McCormick posted bond after being jailed. preliminary hearing set for Thursday before District Judge Rishel.
