Lone camper opens fire at Battle of Flowers parade
An elderly man described as a loner parked a camper on the parade route and began shooting, killing two women and injuring 47 as thousands of revelers fled. Police found the gunman dead inside the camper along with six rifles, amid a chaotic scene with officers and civilians aiding the wounded.

Steel strike persists as New Castle man hurt in clash
A New Castle man, Harold Natvic, 29, was hospitalized in guarded condition after a rock attack and shotgun blast amid a steel haulers strike along Interstate 80 in Shenango Township Mercer County. Trucker Albert Salmon, 40, of Bloomburg NJ, and picket Richard Muir, 33, of Girard Ohio, were arrested on aggravated assault and related charges. Muir faced extra counts. bond set at $10,000 for him, $5,000 for Salmon.
