Union Area School Board Re-enacts Tax Levies
The Union Area School Board re enacted 10 per capita and 1 percent wage and real estate transfer taxes to raise about 134 500 for the next school year. The wage tax netted 110 000 this year and a rumor of half revenue going to Union Township supervisors worries officials. The transfer levy should yield 6 000 to 8 000, while the per capita tax will raise around 16 500 with half directed to the Union supervisors. The district tax rate for 1966 67 is to be set May 4 at the high school.
