She says happiness comes from wearing miniskirts and high heels and feeling free, a new prosthesis made mostly of synthetic rubber and nearly indistinguishable from a real limb.

Cassidy, Dixmont medical director, says the facility will lose its psychiatric unit though total closure is not confirmed. Budget cuts limit operations through December with possible service reductions thereafter.
The government aims to tie Louise Faella of 710 E Long Ave New Castle to a female caller described as Louise who phoned bets to Joanne Pace Haney in the Bobby Iannelli gambling conspiracy trial. Prosecution plans to reuse Haney as a witness to prove Faella’s involvement. Haney testified with immunity after receiving 100 dollars weekly for relaying telephone bet numbers recorded via a 12 day wiretap at Iannelli’s Penn Hills home. Iannelli and his wife Delores are accused as the operation’s leaders in a 6.5 million gambling scheme.
The Apollo 16 crew John W. Young Thomas K. Mattingly and Charles M. Duke report morale high after lunar orbit return. Mattingly prepares for a spacewalk to retrieve 6500 feet of film from two mapping cameras while the crew notes moon dust and breccias found in lunar samples.
In Pennsylvania the trio of Humphrey Muskie and McGovern campaigned on the final day before the Democratic primary as each seeks a path to the national convention. McGovern hopes to spoil and win delegates while Humphrey and Muskie seek votes and delegates amid labor endorsements and local machine backing.
NBC and other networks use 190 Pennsylvania precincts to forecast winners in the Democrat presidential race. The Fifth Ward South Side precinct in New Castle with 272 Democrats and 178 Republicans is a key sample due to its Italian makeup and low income level.
