Chicago April 23 a postal inspector E L Jackson was shot in the abdomen and four desperadoes wounded in a savage clash with three federal agents and an informer at the Hawthorne Arms hotel. Courtney is linked to a March 1923 alleged robbery and juror bribery attempt in Gov Len Small case.
