The Ellwood City Area School Board proposed a two mill tax cut and a $2,366,189 budget for 1966 67. The district projects $851,200 from a 42 mill levy as assessed values rose from $18 million to $21 million.
President Johnson seeks to place his future son in law Pat Nugent with LBJ radiotelevision interests after his marriage to Luci. Nugent, 22, has declined a Capitol Hill post to learn the ropes at KTBC-TV Austin and related Johnson holdings as Luci and Lynda Bird prepare to inherit the family business.
Washington (UPI) Senate Republican Leader Everett M Dirksen faces a crucial Senate vote today on a costly plan to create an apportionment escape from one man one vote. If supported by a two thirds majority the proposal would allow a state to apportion one House of its legislature on a non population basis after a referendum.
