Shenango pickleball association to hold April 28 drive
Jeff Gehm helps lead the Shenango Pickleball Association as it launches a membership drive from 5 p.m. to dusk on April 28 at the Shenango Community Park Pavilion. The park has six courts, maintained by the township, with annual dues of 25 dollars for Shenango residents and 35 dollars for non residents. The association aims to fund court use through memberships and forthcoming tournaments and leagues.

State moves to classify Trang as a controlled substance
Governor Josh Shapiro announced the plan to schedule xylazine known as Trang as a controlled substance amid rising overdoses in Pennsylvania. Toxicology data show about 620 fatal overdoses in 2022 with a near sevenfold rise since 2017, and an estimated 5,000 statewide drug fatalities last year. Naloxone does not reverse xylazine overdoses.
