Mrs. Mary Getch, 40, wife of Dehn Getch of Moravia Street, hanged herself in the cellar yesterday afternoon amid long illness. Her husband, a National Radiator plant worker, returning home found the door unlocked and later discovered her body. Coroner J. P. Caldwell and Undertaker David Ritchie attended. funeral is at Moravia Street church with interment at Greenwood.
Six persons perished in a South Bend blaze that destroyed the Punicker home while relatives were away in Mishawaka. The eight to eleven year old Purucker children and their grandmother died from suffocation, bodies found in second floor bedrooms.
Police seek Mrs. W. B. Goodsell, 22, 5 ft 6 in, dark complexioned, last seen with her five year old daughter Monday afternoon. She left home intending to visit Shenango Valley hospital and has not been heard from since.
Mrs Lowell Fletcher Hobart of Cincinnati wins the Daughters of the American Revolution presidential general race by a large margin. Ballots show 221 votes for Hobart and 22 for rival Mrs Juling Young Talmadge of Athens Georgia. Her sweep extends to include several Pennsylvania leaders among the newly chosen officers.
