William Herbert Green Ill is escorted in handcuffs at O'Hare International Airport after being arrested aboard a Delta jet he allegedly tried to hijack. Police report the incident occurred on the flight prompting emergency actions and federal intervention.

He will fly by helicopter, attend a $100 reception at the Holiday Inn, speak at a Cathedral dinner, and announce a Vietnam war plan. He also stops in Altoona Johnstown Pittsburgh before tonight's event.
Humphrey backers grow confident he can win Pennsylvania presidential preference but worry about delegate totals for Miami Beach. Muskie and McGovern push hard in Pennsylvania with Philadelphia area campaigning and Muskie taps a Vietnam War address for key stations. Alabama Gov. Wallace boosts to Pennsylvania, while 137 delegates vote April 25 with 182 total at stake.

Raymond M. McCandless of Ellwood City died after stepping into Pa. 65 southbound traffic in Harmony Township around 9:45 p.m. He was struck by a car driven by Charles Kulik of Pittsburgh. autopsy pending to determine cause of death. Kulik uninjured. no charges filed. McCandless 7th Beaver County traffic fatality this year. Funeral arrangements set with DeCarbo & Son Funeral Home.
U.S. Navy reports two sailors killed and 16 wounded as Communist fire struck two warships off North Vietnam. Worden and Buchanan sustains damage. nearby DMZ and South Vietnam bombardments continue amid heavy air raids and 4552 missions.
Defense Secretary Laird testified before Senate committees that American warplanes are conducting raids in North Vietnam at this moment. He noted no attacks on Hanoi or Haiphong since weekend strikes while warning that open actions remain possible within the limits set by policy.
Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey, Democrat candidate for president, will appear at 9 a.m. Monday beside New Castle City Hall. He is to speak in the Robert F. Myers Home for Funerals parking lot, with Lawrence County Humphrey campaign chair Martin Kovach and delegate Lorie Greene of the Bonanza TV series to attend.
