Bids for a walk in freezer motor were opened from Gallo Refrigeration Co. and Gargasz and Zarella Co. Gargasz and Zarella were ruled out for lack of a certified check or bond. Gallo offered 1915 and 2083 with 439 for insulation while Gargasz quoted 1927 for the motor and 440 for insulation. Commissioners must decide whether to purchase the motor or pay for insulation with leased funding. Cement paving on the Kildar Bridge deck begins tomorrow as Martin's Fording Bridge deck work nears completion.

City Firemen Answer 4 Calls
City firemen responded to four incidents including two vehicle fires a grass fire and a false alarm. A 1952 model wagon owned by Rev John Patterson of West Middlesex sustained 74 in damage from an electrical short at West Ave and Washington St. An hour later a Toscue? owned by Rudy Kwiat caught fire on Countyine St. Hickory Twi volunteers assisted. A grass fire behind Twe ger Light Dairy on Madison Ave burned briefly. A false alarm at 6 52 from Crawford Ave and Countryline St was reported. Police noted youths may face prosecution.

Douthett Dies At Butler In 67th Year
William G Douthett Jr 67 of Butler route died after a stroke in Butler. He was a longtime manager and treasurer for Botnet and Graham Clothing and led the National Federation of Independent Business district. A Westminster College graduate and member of St Andrew Church and New Castle Consistory AASA, he served on the American Missions Board. Survived by wife Esther Menninger Douthett a daughter Mrs Merle Jeanney Wilson Dr of Penn Tap a son William G Douthett III four grandchildren and two sisters. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1 pm from the Thompson Funeral Home Butler with interment at Butler Cemetery. Friends may call today 1 to 4 pm and 6 to 9 pm.

Man From Youngstown Burned Working At Church Plug
Don Berka aged 32 from Youngstown was admitted to New Castle hospital Tuesday at 8:89 am with first and second degree burns to his left hand. He was installing an electric plug at St Vilys Church when sparks and a wire caused the burn. He was discharged after treatment.

Chrysler posts 45 percent Q1 sales rise in 1983 report
Chrysler President Lyon A Tow told shareholders that first quarter sales of the firm’s cars were up 45 percent from a year earlier. Total first quarter Chrysler car sales reached 209,225, taking 12.2 percent of the market.
