Mahoningtown Girls Injured Thursday In Accidents
Two Mahoningtown girls, Trene First and Sadie Arthurs, were hurt Thursday afternoon. Sadie, 18, employed at the cab works, had a hook strike her neck. Trene was at a lodge meeting when a heavy pedestal cut above her eye. Both were treated by Dr. Wann at 4 North Liberty Street.

Bailey Seeks Income Tax to Replace Tariff Revenue
Senator Bailey of Texas introduced in the Senate an income tax amendment to the tariff bill. The proposal would tax incomes over 5000 at 3 percent, with exemptions for securities and corporations below 4600. Bailey says Democrats will push for passage with likely Republican support, estimating $100 million in revenue. Railways would pay about $30 million and other corporations $35 million under the plan.

Mrs. Hugh McClaren of Wickboro North Grant avenue, who swallowed a brass pin while drinking water fifteen years ago, finally found the object at the back of her soft palate with the help of a Kittanning physician. An operation Tuesday removed the pin, ending years of worry and discomfort.

Arlington hotel proprietor Jacob Fiedler killed by fast train
Jacob Fiedler former Arlington hotel proprietor in Butler was instantly killed at Harmony when he stepped onto tracks to escape a freight and walked into an oncoming B&O passenger train. The engineer attempted to stop but too late, body hurled from tracks. Remains sent to his home. Grace Treman of South Jefferson Street reported seriously injured.
