Boxing great Tom Leach Pagley Dies at 94
Daniel A. Leach known as Tom Leach, famed pool player and later longtime Jefferson Athletic Club manager, died at Golden Hill Nursing Home at 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1992 after a lengthy illness. He began boxing at 16 in featherweight class and fought 12 pro bouts under manager Jimmy Dime. He gained early fame in billiards, touring as the Masked Marvel, blindfolded trick shots. He started the Jefferson A.C. on Kennedy Square then upstairs at Junedale Market on Washington Street.
