Firefighters Help Shenango Mobile Home Residents During Flood
About 10 adults with several pets left Kerr's Mobile Home Park in Shenango Township as Big Run crested, flooding the area with water three to four feet deep in places. Firefighters worked overnight to assist residents wading through sewage contaminated floodwaters. a New Castle Fire Department boat standby was unused.

Shapiro credits union power for saving Butler GOES mill
Governor Josh Shapiro hailed union workers in western Pennsylvania for preventing the closure of Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works and a sister plant in Ohio. The effort protected about 1,300 jobs tied to grain oriented electrical steel used in transformers after a proposed federal rule threatened GOES production and the mills’ future. UAW Local 3303 members and Cleveland-Cliffs leaders warned the rule could end GOES use within three years, risking jobs and regional industry.
