Beaver Falls boy cleared in fatal stabbing defense
An eight year old boy was absolved by a Beaver County coroner's jury in the March 31 stabbing death of his father. The jury found the boy acted in defense of his mother Monica Jones, 36, after finding his father William Jones, 59, choking the woman on a porch glider. The child retrieved a kitchen knife and stabbed his father in the back.

Icy roads spark wrecks across Shenango county
Several crashes occurred between 6 30 and 8 a m as icy conditions spread. A tractor trailer on the U S 422 Bypass in Shenango Township slid, struck a sign and guardrails, spilling fuel. Boroughs Face Higher Power Rates In May
Wampum New Wilmington and Ellwood City residents will see electricity rate increases starting May 4 as Penn Power raises prices in a phased four year move approved by the Public Utilities Commission.
