Hosea Kennedy Dies After Illness at Home
Hosea Kennedy longtime New Castle resident died Sunday around 4 pm at the family home on Hendrickson avenue after an illness following a paralytic stroke. He would have celebrated his golden wedding in April if he had lived. Born January 15 1832 near Portersville he was 77. He worked in milling with his father and later moved to the city twenty years ago with his family. Survived by wife and eight children and one sister. funeral Tuesday at 2 30 pm at the residence with interment in Oak Park cemetery.

Two boys aged eight and twelve stole reserved balcony tickets for the Handel Oratorio society May 13 and 14 from the Chas. T. Metzler company store. About 125 tickets were taken and offered for sale at reduced prices. Dr. Emery chose not to press charges after discovering the boys’ pleas.
