Township road supervisors meeting at the court house urged support for a one cent gasoline tax to be allocated to townships for road improvements. A committee will gauge gubernatorial and legislative candidates views, while maps are reviewed to identify priority roads for upgrade under the proposal.
Two men are killed and a third injured when a conveyer cable breaks on the Pitt Construction bridge project in Erie Pennsylvania. Edward Hawley and Harley Burch die, Fred Burgemeister is injured. all three fall twenty feet onto steel piling.
Beverly Hills April 10 Special: Italian fighter Primo Carnera defeated a 202 pound African Methodist church deacon from Riverside, Mr Neil Clisby, in three minutes forty seconds. Clisby traveled to the ring as a substitute. he landed two notably sharp blows but failed to unseat the heavyweight. Carnera earned twenty thousand dollars for the victory.

Pittsburgh police hunted for the identity of a youthful bandit after a pharmacy hold up ended with the teen fatally shot by owner Harry Bluestone. Bluestone drew a pistol when told to surrender and fired three times at pointblank range, killing one robber and causing the other to flee. only clue was the letters FP etched on the slain bandit’s belt buckle.
Jameson Memorial Hospital Aid Society members met at the hospital yesterday to sew blankets and pneumonia jackets and prepare bandages. Forty pairs of blankets were bound and materials for surgical dressings were made. dues renewals are requested, with Mrs. Norman A. Martin as treasurer at 136 Fairfield Avenue.

Thomas filed for a hearing with Governor Roosevelt, who said a hearing will be granted before any action. Papers reportedly signed by Pennsylvania Governor Fisher are en route to Albany.
London April 10 the American naval conference delegation proposed to France and Italy a blank space five power treaty framework. It would include all agreed points among the five powers and leave spaces for the French and Italian tonnage figures. The plan also would adopt the United States Great Britain and Japan agreement.
