George W. Miller and family return from Los Angeles after three months, praising the oil boom and climate. He reports abundant orange groves, growing exports, car shortages hindering shipments, and local use of oil by products as fuel, with notable health and agricultural notes from the region.

Charles Gibson died suddenly at his home in New Wilmington Tuesday at 1 30 am from heart disease. He was 84, lifelong resident of New Wilmington township. Funeral by Rev Johnston at the Neshannock church will be Thursday at 1 30 pm. interment in Neshannock Cemetery. He leaves six children, including Isaac, Henry, Abner, George, and two daughters. A machinist William Bagshaw at Vulcan Foundry and Machine Co completed a large mould for iron balls used in bearings of a large revolving crane. The two half spheres form a perfect sphere with 11 inch inside diameter and produce 60 pound balls. The tool and process were specially designed to ensure precise hemispheres and seamless assembly on a hinge with handles.
A 1901 school board memorial from Neshannock church stating William Boyd has died. The resolutions praise his virtues as a member and co worker, urge imitation of his life, extend sympathy to his family, and order copies sent to relatives and published in county papers. James M. Watson presided, William C. Wilson secretary.
Mrs. Albert W. Harbison of 124 North Mercer street attended the funeral of her cousin Mrs. Eleanor Frazier in Allegheny on Wednesday. Mrs. Frazier died at her late home in Allegheny and will be buried Thursday afternoon. She was the mother-in-law of Thomas Christy of Butler, a well known local figure. A separate note quotes Albert Heller of Omaha praising Krause's Headache Capsules as the best preventive or remedy he has found, with the product widely sold by druggists.
A Moravia Street resident liquor-fueled nearly jumped from a second story porch, saved by friends. Peter Ecklund loses a hat on Big Run bridge to a gust, watching it drift away. Mrs. John Morgan travels to Avonmore and is ill with quinsey at John B. Tones home. Otto Ecklund visits Minnesota kin. Sweden-born father plans to stay with Peter Ecklund. Local arrivals and illnesses noted, plus several residents moving or traveling.
Realty sales rise as numerous deeds were filed including Charles Reed to Carlos Riges for 950 dollars in Third ward, Joseph Leiby to J H Ilveston for 1100 in Fourth ward, Pittsburg Company to Atlantic Refining for 600 in Ellwood City, and other transfers in North Beaver and Union townships with prices ranging from 325 to 1560 dollars. Local market activity remains brisk with multiple property transactions noted.
